New York Islanders Reassign Kirill Kabanov

Press Release

The New York Islanders have reassigned Kirill Kabanov back to his junior team the Moncton Wildcats. The Islanders third round pick (65th overall) in this past summer’s National Hockey League entry draft was held pointless in two rookie games for the Islanders last week. Wildcats Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Danny Flynn had the following to say regarding Kirill’s first training camp with the Islanders. "I spoke to Garth Snow this morning; he informed me that Kirill Kabanov was reassigned to the Wildcats. For the most part they were very happy with his on ice performance but feel reassignment to Moncton for a full season is the next step in his development."

Last season Kabanov registered 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points in just 22 games. He missed the majority of the season after undergoing surgery to repair a wrist injury.
