COLTS SEND CHARTRAND TO BELLEVILLE

Press Release

The Barrie Colts have announced today that they have traded goalie John Chartrand to the Belleville Bulls in exchange for a pair of draft picks.

The Colts acquired the Barrie resident in December of last season from the Niagara IceDogs in exchange for Dalton McGrath and Darren Archibald.

In 23 games for Barrie Chartrand recorded eight wins while posting a 4.93 goals against average.

In return the Colts get Belleville’s 5th round pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection and Windsor’s 4th round pick in the 2013 Priority Selection.

The Colts crease became much more crowded in the off-season when they drafted a pair of goalies to compliment the existing trio of Chartrand, Clint Windsor and Josh Malecki.

Barrie used their 2nd round, 37th overall pick in the 2011 OHL Draft to select Alex Fotinos and then picked Mathias Niederberger in the 2011 CHL Import Draft.
