Hitmen set to open 2011 Training Camp

Calgary, AB – Calgary Hitmen General Manager, Executive Vice President and Alternate Governor Kelly Kisio announced today the Hitmen will open their 2011 Training Camp on Friday, August 26th at Don Hartman North East Sportsplex (5206-68th Street NE).

The six day camp begins with rookie player registration and fitness testing. Over 70 prospects are expected to attend with sessions to also include team practices, goalie drills and intra-squad games.

The top rookies will advance to main camp which opens Sunday, August 28th with registration and fitness testing. The first on-ice sessions start the following day.

“With a large number of talented young players coming to camp and with a high number of returning veterans there should be some excellent competition for jobs,” said Kisio.

All training camp sessions including the annual Hitmen Intra-Squad Game on August 31st are free and open to the public. Rosters will be available at the arena.
