Press Release
Fargo Force defenseman Taylor Fleming has committed to play collegiate hockey at the United States Air Force Academy following his USHL career.
Fleming is entering his second season with the Force after putting up
10 points (3g, 7a) in 55 games as a rookie in 2011-12. He scored his
first USHL career goal on January 13th vs. Tri-City and
tallied his second the following night against Tri-City – both victories
for the Force. The 19-year-old from Waconia, Minnesota was honored by
his team last season with the Community Service Award for his
outstanding efforts in the Fargo community.
“What I was looking for in a college was the full package”, said
Fleming. “Air Force has great academics there and you are basically set
for life when you graduate. That was one of the things that I liked
about the school. The scholarship was also helpful so that it was
affordable for me and my family and they have a really good hockey team
there. They have become one of the top teams in the country over the
last few years. It was just the full package for me.”
The Air Force Falcons are a member of the Atlantic Hockey Conference
and have a total of nine USHL alumni on the roster for the upcoming
season; Stephen Carew (Green Bay Gamblers), Kyle De Laurell (Lincoln
Stars), Chad Demers (Fargo Force), Max Edson (Waterloo Black Hawks),
Cole Gunner (Chicago/Fargo/Tri-City), Max Hartner (Green Bay Gamblers),
George Michalke (Sioux Falls Stampede), Mike Walsh (Chicago Steel), and
Dan Weissenhofer (Fargo/Lincoln).
