Prince Albert SK – The Prince Albert Raiders have named their captain and alternate captains for the 2012-2013 campaign, which starts tonight.
Mark McNeill will return as team
captain after serving as a co-captain of the team last year. The
19-year-old forward returns for his fourth season with the Green and
Gold, having recorded 73 goals and 106 assists in 213 games in Prince
Albert.
Harrison Ruopp will continue his role
as an alternate captain. Also entering his fourth year with the club,
the 19-year-old Zehner, Saskatchewan product brings a strong physical
element to the Raiders blueline, amassing 275 penalty minutes in 152
career games.
20-year-old Anthony Bardaro will also
serve as an alternate after joining the team midway through last season.
The Delta, BC native led the team in scoring with 36 goals and added 38
assists to finish second on the team in points with 74.
18-year-old Shane Danyluk and
17-year-old Josh Morrissey will split the final alternate captain role
for the first time each this season. Danyluk enters his third year with
the Raiders and is ready to bounce back after missing 20 games in
2011-2012 due to injury. Morrissey had a break out year last season,
scoring 10 goals and 28 assists to finish second in the WHL in rookie
defenceman scoring with 38 points.
