SASKATOON BLADES: Ink Top Prospect Revel

Press Release

The Saskatoon Blades are very pleased to announce that they have signed prospect Matt Revel to a standard Western Hockey League education contract.

Revel was listed by the Blades in October of 2011 and went on to have a great season with the Fraser Valley Bruins of the British Columbia Major Midget League last year.  In 40 games during the 2011-12 season Revel scored 25 goals and 26 assists for 51 points to go along with 28 PIMs.

Earlier this season, Revel appeared in four games for the Chilliwack Chiefs of the BCHL before deciding to come to Saskatoon to join the Blades.  In those four games, he scored one goal.

"Matt is a player that we have really coveted since we listed him last fall," said Blades Head Coach and General Manager Lorne Molleken.

"We think he's a tremendous player who has all kinds of potential and he will add great depth to our hockey club at a very key position.  He had a very good Under-17 camp this summer and we look forward to having him on the ice with us during what is a very important season in franchise history."

Matt Revel is expected to be in the lineup this Friday when the Blades open the season in Prince Albert.  He will wear number 16.

The Saskatoon Blades would like to welcome Matt Revel and his family to the organization.
