Press Release
PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings
of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) have signed Justin Rai to
their full roster for the 2012-13 season. Rai has played three games
with the Spruce Kings picking up points in each of the games playing on a
line with Chad Staley and Jeremiah Luedtke.
Justin Rai is a 5' 10" 170 lbs left handed forward from Surrey called
up from the Richmond Sockeyes of the Pacific Junior Hockey League
(PJHL) as an affiliate player (AP) on September 13, 2012. Rai scored a
goal in the team's home opener and has added assist in both of the
following two games with the Spruce Kings.
"Justin has played extremely well for us and we feel he is more than
ready to play Junior 'A' hockey," said Spruce Kings head coach, Dave
Dupas. "He has an extremely hard work ethic and fights hard every shift.
On a line with Luedtke and Staley we see the same kind of chemistry
that gave us depth last year."
Rai has already shown a glimpse of his offensive abilities and skill
set that saw him generate over a point a game last season. In 21 games
with the Richmond Sockeyes, Rai finished with 36 points (14G, 23A), he
added another 4 goals and 4 assists in 7 post season games.
The Prince George Spruce Kings would like to thank the Rai family and the Richmond Sockeyes for their support.
