Georgetown Raiders netminder Gabe Grunwald committed
in the spring of 2011 to joining the University of Wisconsin Badgers
beginning with the 2013-14 Big Ten Conference season.
The 6'3", 190 lbs native of Chappaqua, New York and Stouffville,
Ontario holds dual citizenship and is the son of former Toronto Raptors
and current New York Knicks general manager Glen Grunwald.
The now 19-year old netminder spent the majority of the 2010-11 season
as a member of the Ajax-Pickering Raiders Midget 'AAA' club, recording a
2.32 goals against average and a .921 save percentage, while also
spending a short stint with Port Huron of the NAHL. Last season he
would split the season between Michigan and Kenai River of the NAHL
tasting varying degrees of success.
Thus far this year since joining the Raiders, is undefeated with a 1-0
record, along with a 2.70 goals against average an .879 save percentage
and the club is counting on Grunwald to help with a repeat of last
season's regular season championship performance.
