ICE add talented forward Kurker to line-up

Press Release

The Indiana Ice announced today that they have added forward Sam Kurker to the line-up for the remainder of the 2013-2014 season. Kurker will be wearing #24 for the team and is slated to make his debut this week with the Ice.

Kurker arrives in Indianapolis after spending parts of two seasons with Boston University where he compiled six points (4G, 2A) and 75 penalty minutes in 47 games.

The 6-3, 210-pound winger was a second round pick (56th overall) by the St. Louis Blues in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to being picked by St. Louis, Kurker was drafted by Indy in the 2012 USHL Entry Draft before electing to go directly to Boston University.

The Reading, MA native joins a familiar teammate in Indiana in Brian Pinho as both forwards were standouts for St. John’s Prep in Massachusetts. Kurker led the team in scoring his senior year with 31 goals and 32 assists, while leading St. John’s to the semi-final playoffs in the Super Eight tournament. He graduated with a total of 66 goals and 129 career points as an Eagle.
