Spitfires’ Ho-Sang is OHL Player of Week

Press Release

Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced that 2014 NHL Draft prospect Josh Ho-Sang of the Windsor Spitfires is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending January 26 after leading the league in scoring with seven points in two games recording three goals and four assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-3.

Ho-Sang helped the Spitfires earn a pair of victories last week highlighted by a four-point game as part of an 8-7 shootout win over the Sarnia Sting on Sunday afternoon to extend the club’s winning-streak to four games.  Ho-Sang earned first star honours in that contest recording his first career hat-trick including his 23rd goal of the season to tie the score in the third period plus an assist in regulation before netting the shootout winner.  Earlier in the week, Ho-Sang collected three assists and was named third star of the Spitfires’ 5-2 road win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

Ho-Sang, a Thornhill, ON, native who recently turned 18-years-old, is playing in his second OHL season with the Spitfires after being chosen fifth overall in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection.  This season he has 62 points in 47 games and is listed 18th by NHL Central Scouting in their Midterm Draft Rankings.  Ho-Sang, who is the second member of the Spitfires to claim the award this season, participated in the BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game earlier this month recording a goal and an assist for Team Orr in the 4-3 victory.
