Stampede acquire veteran defenseman Nolan Gluchowski from Tri-City

Press Release

Sioux Falls, SD—The Sioux Falls Stampede announced today they have acquired defenseman Nolan Gluchowski (glue-COW-ski) from the Tri-City Storm in exchange for defenseman Daniel Fritz, forward Cody Milan (My-lynn) and a futures pick in the 2014 USHL Phase 1 Draft. It marks the second trade in a week the Herd have made with Tri-City. Last Monday, Sioux Falls acquired defenseman Garrett Cecere from the Storm.

Gluchowski was the Storm’s top scoring defenseman with 16 points (1g, 15a) in 35 games in 2013-14. The Wixom, Mich. native was in his third season with the Storm and also served as team captain. The 6-foot, 192-pound right-handed defenseman plays on the power play and penalty kill. 10 of his 15 assists this year have come with the man advantage. Last year, Gluchowski tallied 19 points (8g, 11a), 68 penalty minutes and 104 shots on goal in 48 games. He has already committed to play collegiate hockey at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY.

Fritz was in his first season with the Stampede and posted two assists in 26 games. The Harwood, Maryland native was a fifth round selection of the Stampede’s during the 2013 USHL Draft. Milan was in his second year with the Stampede and posted 2 points (1g, 1a) in 25 games this season. Last year, he recorded 10 points (4g, 6a) in 34 games.
