St. Louis Jr. Blues and NA3HL defensman Kyle Meeh was signed by the Springfield Jr. Blues of the NAHL last week and will finish the 2013-14 season with them.
Meeh had been given a tender offer for the 2014-15 season but was
given the opportunity to practice and skate with the Jr. Blues during an
off weekend for St. Louis. After playing two games this past weekend,
the Springfield Jr. Blues decided to make the move for this year rather
than tender Meeh for next season.
Head Coach Chris Flaugher said, "We were lucky to have Kyle as long
as we did this year. We were not expecting him to be back in a St.
Louis uniform this season. But his presence in the line-up and in the
locker room, with so many young players and rookies, put us in a
position where now we are in contention for the division title."
Meeh commented, "This has what I have been working towards for the
last couple of years. I just want to prove I can play at that level and
higher. Springfield is giving me that opportunity and I am excited about
the opportunity."
This past weekend, in 2 games, Meeh notched an assist and had a
chance to shoot in Springfield's shootout loss to Coulee Region.
