The Dubuque Fighting Saints announced that forward Jarrid Privitera has committed to play collegiate hockey at the University of Vermont following his USHL career.
Privitera has appeared in all 35 games for the Saints this season and recorded 23 points (7g, 16a), ranking fifth on the team in scoring. He has registered multi-goal games on three occasions this season and has posted a plus-six rating during the team’s current seven-game winning streak. The 19-year-old is playing his second full season in the USHL after helping Dubuque capture the Anderson Cup and Clark Cup during the 2012-13 campaign. He scored 26 points (15g, 11a) and posted a plus-19 rating over 56 regular season contests before adding six points (2g, 4a) in 11 playoff games.
The Old Tappan, New Jersey first appeared in the USHL for the Saints during the 2011-12 season and recorded one assist over three games. He was also part of the Dubuque team that represented the United States in the 2013 Junior Club World Cup in Omsk, Russia and helped win a bronze medal.
Privitera is joined by Saints teammate Robby Darrar who is also committed to the University of Vermont. Four other current USHL players are committed to the school; Drew Best (Green Bay Gamblers), Kevin Irwin (Green Bay Gamblers), and Haralds Egle (Muskegon Lumberjacks).
The University of Vermont is a member of Hockey East and has 10 USHL alumni on the Catamounts roster this season; Mario Puskarich (Tri-City/Waterloo), Michael Paliotta (Team USA), Jake Fallon (Indiana Ice), Connor Brickley (Des Moines Buccaneers), H.T. Lenz (Des Moines Buccaneers), Colin Markison (Omaha Lancers), Matt White (Des Moines Buccaneers), Thomas Forgione (Sioux Falls/Cedar Rapids), Nick Luukko (Dubuque Fighting Saints), and Anthony DeCenzo (Tri-City Storm).
Additionally, Vermont assistant coaches Kevin Patrick (Muskegon Lumberjacks, 2010-12) and Kyle Wallack (Indiana Ice, 2011-12) were both head coaches in the USHL.
