Charlie Major to open 2014 Western Canada Cup in Dauphin, MB

 Dauphin, MB – The Special Events Committee of the 2014 Crescent Point Energy Western Canada Cup has confirmed that country legend, Charlie Major, will help kick off the event with a concert following the Opening Ceremonies.

Major will entertain hockey fans and music fans alike at the Countryfest Cabaret in the Parkland Recreation Complex at 10:00 pm on April 25th.  Concert tickets are now on sale at the Dauphin’s Countryfest  ticket office in Dauphin, MB, or by calling (204) 622-3700 or 1-800-361-7300 (www.countryfest.ca).  Tickets are $30 including all taxes and fees, or free as part of the “VIP Add-On”.

The VIP Add-On is available to fans who have purchased a Western Canada Cup 13-game Tournament Package. To purchase a Tournament go to www.westerncanadacup.com, and click on “Buy Tickets”, or call 1-888-676-7661 and reference the Western Canada Cup in Dauphin, Manitoba.

The VIP Add-On will be sold for $205 (including taxes and fees) and includes:

- "Front of the Line" express access to the arena

- Charlie Major concert ticket on opening night (April 25th)

- Access to the "730 CKDM VIP Lounge" for all games:  includes two complimentary beverages per game and unlimited soft drinks, snacks, and a meal before each game (13 meals!)

- Complimentary souvenir program

- VIP Parking at Credit Union Place

In other Western Canada Cup concert news, Canadian super star Codie Prevost will be in concert at the Countryfest Cabaret on Friday, May 2nd following the Awards Banquet.  Tickets will be available at the door or free with your Western Canada Cup ticket.

The 2014 Western Canada Cup will include the Dauphin Kings of the Manitoba Junior A Hockey League (host team) and the champion of each of the four western leagues. The 13-game tournament will include a round-robin schedule followed by a 3-game page play-off with the Western Canada Cup Champion and the runner-up both representing western Canada at the 2014 RBC Cup National Junior A Championship in Vernon, BC.
