Fighting Falcons Still Accepting Donations for Nichols Family Fundraiser

Press Release

PORT HURON, MI – The Port Huron Fighting Falcons, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are still accepting donations for a silent auction to benefit the family of recently deceased goalie coach Scott Nichols during their weekend series against the Springfield Jr. Blues this Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at McMorran Arena.

Items up for bid will include VIP Suites for 2014 Robertson Cup Playoff games, 2014-15 season tickets, autographed equipment and more. Preferred Charters, the official transportation company of the Fighting Falcons, has donated a trip for two to a Detroit Tigers game as well.

The silent auction will begin Friday and end during Saturday night’s game, when the Fighting Falcons welcome 4-time Stanley Cup Champion and Detroit Red Wings legend Tomas Holmstrom to Port Huron for an autograph session. Cash and checks will be accepted for all winning bidders.

Rather than hold a Jackpot Friday drawing Friday night, the team will donate $1 per person in attendance to the Nichols family.

The Fighting Falcons will donate their portion of all 50/50 proceeds through the rest of the season to the family as well.

If you or your employer may be interested in making a donation to the silent auction, or directly to the Nichols family, contact the Fighting Falcons front office at (810) 966-3800.

Tickets to any Fighting Falcons home game are available at the McMorran Arena Box Office, starting at just $7 for seniors, students and military. For more information, call the team’s front office at (810) 966-3800.
