Stoutdefender inks with SBacks

Press Release

The Salmon Arm SilverBacks are very proud today to announce the commitment of 17 year old American Defenseman Chase Priskie; who will join the SilverBacks for the 2014-15 season.

Priskie is a native of Pembroke Pines, Florida, and will join the SilverBacks after his Senior year at the Selects Hockey Academy at South Kent School in Connecticut, where he has posted 23 goals, and 58 points so far this season, in 58 games.

Priskie won the Coaches Award for MVP in the 12-13 season at South Kent, scoring 15 goals, and adding 25 assists.

SilverBacks GM and Head Coach Troy Mick says that Priskie's signing should come as exciting news to 'Backs fans, as the young Defenceman has already committed to play at the NCAA's Quinnipiac University, starting in the 2015-16 season "He's a very skilled player, and we expect to see his offensive abilities impress hockey fans at the Shaw Centre. We're very impressed with his relationship with Quinnipiac, and can't wait to help his growth as a player in the BCHL."

Mick says that he's very happy with Chase's decision to join the SilverBacks "We can't wait to see what he can bring to our blue-line next season; he is a top end recruit, with a high end offensive capability, who also knows the importance of playing great defense."

Head Coach Mick says Priskie is a leader with his current team, a quality the SilverBacks are pleased to have "He wears the C for his team in South Kent. We could not be any happier to have Chase as part of our team as his passion, commitment to the game is outstanding. The Coaches at South Kent have done a tremendous job in his development, as they are a top end program in hockey and academics. We are proud to have one of their players join the SilverBacks."
