MJHL's Final Showcase to Begin Friday

FLORHAM PARK, NJ – The Metropolitan Junior Hockey League will arrive in Brewster, New York and Danbury, Connecticut for the 2014 MJHL Presidents Day Showcase, the final showcase of the 2013-2014 regular season. Forty games are on the docket in the weekend wrap-around event that will have plenty of impact on the final standings in the race for the Keegan Cup.

The showcase kicks off on Friday afternoon with the hosting Brewster Bulldogs taking on the New Hampshire Monarchs. Six other games highlight the Friday schedule with a pair of key interdivision matchups worth watching. The Boston Junior Rangers faceoff with the North Jersey Avalanche at 5:00pm in the 99 rink and then immediately following, in the same rink, will be the Frederick Freeze taking on the Metro Fighting Moose.

The New Hampshire Monarchs and the Jersey Wildcats kick things off bright and early on Saturday when they do battle at 8:00am. Other matchups to watch on Saturday include the Metro Fighting Moose and the Philadelphia Revolution (10:10am start time on the 99 rink), the Philadelphia Junior Flyers and the Hartford Junior Wolfpack (12:00pm start time on the 98 rink) and the Philadelphia Little Flyers and the Boston Junior Rangers (4:00pm start time on the 98 rink).

On Sunday, a key matchup kicks things off in Danbury when the Philadelphia Little Flyers and the North Jersey Avalanche battle at 7:50am. Other matchups of note include the Long Island Royals and the Boston Bandits (11:50am in Danbury) and the Richmond Generals and the Philadelphia Junior Flyers (4:00pm start time on the 98 rink in Brewster).

On Monday the Hartford Junior Wolfpack and the Philadelphia Little Flyers get the final showcase day off to a flying start, facing off at 8:10am on the 98 rink in a must-win matchup for both teams. Other key matchups include the Philadelphia Revolution and the Richmond Generals battle in a hard-hitting matchup that will prove to be high-scoring and physical and the Central Penn Panthers faceoff with the New York Apple Core in a matchup with major playoff seeding implications in the next to last game of the day and the New York Saints and the Northern Cyclones matchup at 2:10pm in the final showcase game of the regular season.
