QMJHL welcomes the Memorandum of Understanding announcing the Gatineau multi-purpose centre

Boucherville, February 27, 2014 - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) welcomes the announcement of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Olympiques and the City of Gatineau that will allow for the construction of a multi-purpose centre in Gatineau. The QMJHL would also like to acknowledge the leadership of the Quebec Government and the Premier of Quebec that makes today’s announcement of this important project possible.

"These quality sports facilities will provide a better product for hockey fans," said the League’s Commissioner, Gilles Courteau. "Thanks to its leadership in this project, the Government of Quebec allows Gatineau to develop quality infrastructure and the necessary tools to meet the challenges of the future. This upcoming multi-purpose centre will meet the growing needs of the Gatineau Olympiques and allow the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League to hold events in the city that contribute to the exposure of Gatineau and significant economic benefits for the city and its surroundings . "

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s mission is to develop players for professional hockey while supporting them throughout their academic endeavors in order to mold them into responsible and educated citizens. It must offer high entertainment value in order to ensure the continued success of its activities.
