Cents rookie blueliner Chanter commits to New Hampshire

Press Release

The Merritt Centennials are pleased to announce the commitment of defenceman Dylan Chanter to the University of New Hampshire starting with the 2014-15 season.

Chanter has played 50 games with the Cents as a rookie and the 6-foot-3 Armstrong, B.C. native has 2 goals and 10 assists.

“At 16 years old, Dylan has stepped in and been an impact player for us here, which speaks to his maturity and talents," said Cents head coach and GM Luke Pierce. "UNH is getting an elite young prospect with tremendous upside.

"Dylan's physical strength and game awareness is incredible for a player of his age, and we believe he's only getting better," continued Pierce. "He's been a model citizen here in Merritt and has committed himself to working extremely hard both on and off the ice.

"We are very proud of Dylan's accomplishments to date and congratulate him on this achievement," Pierce added. "We look forward to his continued presence on our blueline for the next two years.“
