VESEY BREAKS EJHL SCORING RECORD

Press Release

Foxboro, MA- The Eastern Junior Hockey League congratulates South Shore Kings forward Jimmy Vesey, who broke the EJHL’s single-season scoring record with his 84thpoint in Thursday's contest against the Bay State Breakers. The record-breaking point came on an assist to Joe Prescott. He also added another assist on an empty-net goal, pushing his total to 85.

Vesey, a 1993-born native of North Reading, MA, set the tone for the season with a hat trick in his first EJHL game back in September. He continued to rattle off points in the next ten games. Since the beginning of the season, Vesey has been held scoreless only six times with the longest drought stretching two games, both on December 10.

Vesey represented the EJHL as a member of the EJHL Select Team that participated in the 2011 Junior Club World Cup in Omsk, Russia and was selected to the 2012 EJHL All-Star Game. He has committed to Harvard University for the upcoming season.

The previous record of 83 points was set by the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs’ Paul Thompson during the 2006-07 season and was equaled by the Kings’ Chris Wagner during the 2009-10 season.
