Grigorenko, Belzile and Beaudry named TELUS three stars of the week

Mikhail Grigorenko, Alex Belzile and Michaël Beaudry were named today, the TELUS three stars of the week for the period spanning February 20th to the 26th, 2012.

The Quebec Remparts 6'02 right winger, Mikhail Grigorenko is the first star of the week with five goals and one assist in just two games played. Friday in a 5-3 win against the Gatineau Olympiques, Grigorenko racked up 4 points including 3 goals on 8 shots and was named the first star of the game. Sunday, in a 6-3 win against the Victoriaville Tigres he scored 2 goals. In February alone, he scored 9 goals in 10 games and leads the rookies in the league with 37 goals and 78 points!

Alex Belzile, the Rimouski Océanic right winger is the second star of the week. Wednesday in a 6-3 win against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan he scored the winning goal and added 2 assists; He was named the first star of the game. Saturday in a 7-4 win against the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, he scored his 20th goal of the season and added 2 assists. He finished off the week with 6 points in 2 games. It’s worth noting that Alex, who was the 11th round choice in 2009, is only 2 shy from hitting the 80 point mark!

Finally, it’s the Val-d’Or Foreurs centre, Michaël Beaudry who is the third star of the week. Wednesday, in a 4-2 win against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, he won 12 out of 17 face-offs, a 71% effectiveness rate. Saturday, in a 7-3 win against the PEI Rocket, he was named the first star of the game for collecting 5 points (all assists) and a +/- of +4. In fact, one of his assists was collected on the winning goal scored by Mathieu Guertin in a penalty kill. Sunday, he added 2 assists to his team’s 7 goal win against the Drummondville Votigeurs ending the score 7-3.
