Stack leads Cents attack, helps club to three wins and takes POW

Merritt Centennials forward Evan Stack has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 19 the league announce Monday.

The Calgary native had points in each of the Centennials three wins last week including the game-winner in a 4-2 win over the Chilliwack Chiefs Saturday where he was named 1st Star. Stack contributed two assists in a 7-1 win over Vernon and followed that with two goals and a helper in a 1st Star showing against Coquitlam.

Stack now has 27 goals and 26 assists on the season which puts him second in Merritt scoring.

Honourable mentions this week go to Merritt Centennials forward Brandon Bruce (four goals, two assists, 1st Star, 2nd Star), Powell River Kings forward Matt Scarth (five goals, two assists, two 1st Stars), Cowichan Valley Capitals forward Steen Cooper (five assists), Merritt Centennials defenceman Richard Sabourin (three assists, 3rd Star) and Surrey Eagles forward Brandon Morley (one goal, three assists, 1st Star).
