Herbst traded to Ottawa

Press Release

LONDON, ONTARIO: London Knights General Manager Mark Hunter announced today that the team has traded goaltender Liam Herbst to the Ottawa 67’s.  In exchange, the Knights receive Oshawa’s 2nd round pick in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection as well as a conditional 4th round pick in 2017 (Ottawa’s).

Herbst, a Mississauga native, was the 1st round selection (22nd overall) in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection.  He did not play in the 2012-13 season as he was rehabbing from a lower body injury.  He has appeared in 15 games for the London Nationals (Junior B) this season and holds a 10-5 record with his first shutout coming on January 5, 2014.  Herbst appeared in 3 games for the Knights this season recording his first OHL victory as the Knights beat the Sting 8-6 in Sarnia on January 1, 2014.
