Sea dogs recall Smith; Gaudet reassigned

SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs have recalled affiliate player and goaltender Christopher Smith from the St. John's Privateers of the Newfoundland & Labrador Major Midget Hockey League.

Smith, 6-1 and 165 lbs., was selected in the fifth round (77th overall) of the 2013 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft.

The 17-year-old St. John's-native played 14 games for the Privateers this season, registering a 1-11 record with a 5.29 goals-against average.

Smith is expected to be in uniform for Friday's game against the Rimouski Oceanic.

In a corresponding roster move, the Sea Dogs have reassigned affiliate player and goaltender Chase Gaudet to the Yarmouth Mariners of the Maritime Junior 'A' Hockey League.
