Rangers Acquire Alberga; Reassign Grant

Kitchener Rangers General Manager and Head Coach Steve Spott announced today that the team has completed a trade with the Sarnia Sting.

In the deal, the Rangers send a sixth round pick in the 2013 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection (acquired from Windsor) to Sarnia in exchange for centre Domenic Alberga.

Originally drafted in the fifth round of the 2009 Priority Selection by Brampton, Alberga has played three OHL seasons with the Battalion and Sting, recording 73 points in 199 career regular season games. The Vaughan, ON native also recorded four assists in six postseason games with Sarnia in 2011-12.

Kitchener Rangers General Manager and Head Coach Steve Spott announced today that the team has reassigned forward Keli Grant to the Kitchener Dutchmen effective Wednesday, September 5, 2012.
