Phantoms acquire 2014 Phase II sixth round pick for Fredric Larsson

Press Release

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Phantoms have acquired a 2014 sixth round selection in the Phase II draft from the Tri-City Storm in exchange for defenseman Fredric Larsson, Head Coach & General Manager Anthony Noreen announced today.

“On behalf of all of us in the Youngstown organization, we’d like to thank Fredric Larsson for his contributions,” said Noreen. “‘Freddy’ was a great teammate and a player who we think very highly of. With a bit of a logjam on our blueline, we had to make a move, and this trade will allow him to continue to develop in Tri-City.”

Larsson, 19, was in his first season with the Phantoms after coming to North America from the Brynäs junior system in Sweden. In 26 games with Youngstown in 2013-14, he recorded one goal and four assists, adding 58 penalty minutes.

The Philadelphia Flyers selected the native of Karlstad, Sweden in the fourth round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft (111th overall).
