COLTS SEND NIXON TO KINGSTON

Press Release

The Barrie Colts have announced that they have traded defenceman Kyler Nixon to the Kingston Frontenacs.

Nixon joined the Colts last season as a free agent and played 45 games in his rookie season in the Ontario Hockey League, putting up seven assists.

In return Barrie gets Kingston’s 6th round pick in 2012 and a conditional 6th round pick in 2014.

Nixon did not play in either of the Colts first two regular season games.

In the off-season Barrie bolstered their defence by acquiring Reid McNeill and Derek Hartwick and drafting Aaron Ekblad and Alex Yuill.

Nixon joins former Colts David Mazurek and Petr Beranek in Kingston.

Barrie’s next home game is on Thursday, September 29th against Owen Sound.
