Saulnier, Dubé, Haché TELUS named the three stars of the week

Alex Saulnier, Yannick Dubé and Justin Haché were named today, the three TELUS stars of the week for the period between September 12th and 18th, 2011.

Alex Saulnier, the Moncton Wildcats centre is the first star the week. He scored a goal against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Tuesday and another against the PEI Rocket on Thursday. He also added two assists in the Wildcats' 5-3 victory against the Rockets, including one to his twin brother, Allain. The victory was the 150th for Wildcats head coach Danny Flynn. Saulnier received at least one point in each of the five games played in this season. After collecting 85 points last season, he's already gotten ten for 2011-12, an average of two points per game. He finished the week with a total of 2 goals, 5 assists and a +/- of +4.

Yannick Dubé, Victoriaville Tigres left winger, is the second star of the week. He amassed two assists, including one which was awarded the winning goal last Friday in a 5-3 win against Baie-Comeau. In the 4-3 overtime victory of his team against Rouyn-Noranda, he scored the tying goal at 16:19 of the third period. He also scored the winning goal in overtime to the delight of the 2290 spectators at the Desjardins Colosseum in Victoriaville. Dubé is largely responsible for the success of the Tigres this season, who have remained the only unbeaten team in the QMJHL after two weeks.

Finally, it is Justin Haché, of the Shawinigan Cataractes, who's the third star of the week, with an impressive record of four assists, and a +6 rating in just two games. The Cataractes also won their match 5-2 on Saturday against the Chicoutimi Saguenéens and 5-2 Sunday against the Gatineau Olympiques.
