JACKS ADD TO ROSTER

Press Release

ODESSA, TX– Just four days prior to the 2011-12 home opener, the Odessa Jackalopes announced Monday that the team has acquired a pair of defensemen in Jared Docken and Tyller Robert. Docken comes to the Jacks from Dubuque of the USHL and is an original Jacks NAHL tender. Robert, who has appeared in one NAHL game this season with Wenatchee, was acquired via a trade with the Wild in exchange for one 2012 tender.

Both Docken and Robert hail from Minnesota, pushing the number of Minnesota natives on the Jackalopes’ roster to nine. The two defensemen join recent Jacks’ acquisition Zach Mertes as the newest players on the Odessa blue line. Mertes, a Forest Lake, MN native, made his Jackalopes debut in Friday’s 2-1 overtime loss to Corpus Christi. Mertes was acquired from the Alaska Avalanche for the rights to defenseman Jordan Krebsbach and a 2012 draft pick.

The Jackalopes open their home schedule on Friday, September 30th and October 1st at the Ector County Coliseum against the Corpus Christi IceRays.

The Odessa Jackalopes celebrate their 15th Anniversary in 2011-12 and drop the puck on their inaugural campaign as a member of the North American Hockey League. Season tickets, mini-plans, and single game tickets are available by calling (432) 552-7825 or by visiting the Jacks online at www.jackalopes.org.
