Trade With The Victoria Grizzlies

Press Release

PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) have completed a trade with the Victoria Grizzlies of the BCHL acquiring Michael Colantone and future considerations in exchange for Jesse Ursic.

Colantone is a 91 born forward from Arizona, 6' 00" and 190lbs. In two seasons with the Victoria Grizzlies, the right handed forward has played in 59 games with a record of 13 goals, 24 assists and 44 minutes in penalties. Colantone picked up an assist in each of the Victoria Grizzlies games played on the weekend.

"One need I wanted to address early on was for another top forward," explains Spruce Kings General Manager, Mike Hawes. "By acquiring Michael I have addressed that need. He's a fast offensively skilled player who will play in all situations for us. It's unfortunate that I had to give up a good player in Jesse to acquire Michael, but sometimes you need to trade from your strengths to fill a hole."

Michael Colantone is expected to be with the Prince George Spruce Kings for practices this week and the team’s first road games of the season. The Spruce Kings road schedule starts on Friday night in Penticton for the Vees home opener and continues on Saturday night in Vernon where they will play the League’s defending champions, the Vernon Vipers.

The Prince George Spruce Kings would like to thank Jesse for all his hard work and dedication and wish him well in his future hockey career.
