Nishi acquired from Spitfires

The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club announced this afternoon that they have acquired goaltender MICHAEL NISHI from the Windsor Spitfires in exchange for a 13th Round Selection in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection.

The 17-year old Toronto, ONT product appeared in 7 games for the Spitfires during the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons compiling a 2-1-0-1 record along with a 3.66 GAA and .852 SV %.

Most recently he started his 3rd season with the Georgetown Raiders of the OJHL where during a pair of games made 78 saves on 81 shots to go along with a 1.50 GAA and .963 SV%.

He stands 6’1” tall while weighing 175 lbs.

Michael is expected in Sault Ste. Marie on Tuesday and will work with his new teammates as they prepare for the start of the 2011-12 Ontario Hockey League season.

The Hounds head out on the road this coming weekend to take on the Belleville Bulls Saturday (Sept. 24, 7:05 p.m.) and Oshawa Generals Sunday (Sept. 25, 6:05 p.m.)
