TBIRDS ACQUIRE LAROQUE FROM OIL KINGS

Kent, WA - Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell today announced the team has acquired defenseman Braeden Laroque from the Edmonton Oil Kings for a 4th round pick in the 2012 WHL Draft.

Laroque, a 19-year-old, from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is entering his third season in the WHL. Last year he appeared in 54 games with the Oil Kings and had two goals and four assists for six points with 32 penalty minutes.

Laroque is a left-handed defenseman who is 6'1 and 198 pounds. He was drafted by the Oil Kings in the 5th round, 90th overall, of the 2007 Bantam Draft.

The T-Birds face the Portland Winterhawks Saturday, October 1, at the Rose Garden at 7 p.m. They return to the ShoWare Center, on Friday, October 7, to face the Prince Albert Raiders at 7:35 p.m.

T-Birds single game tickets for the 2011-12 season are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office.
