Press Release

BELLEVILLE, ON – The Belleville Minor Hockey Association and the Belleville Bulls Hockey Club are pleased to announce that they are joining forces to provide hockey development programs designed to enrich the sport of hockey at a grassroots level in Belleville and the surrounding Quinte region. On behalf of the entire BMHA Board of Directors, President Rick Belanger and Director Joe Shunock would like to express excitement and anticipation for these expanded programs at BMHA. “We sincerely hope this offering will be received well and fully utilized by all players wishing to improve their skills in the drive to excel and reach new levels of capability.”

The Bulls Organization will now serve as the primary hockey skills development provider of the Belleville Minor Hockey Association. Core initiatives in this new partnership include an extensive focus on power skating and puck handling skills, goaltending instruction, and coaching development programs.

Led by Head Coach and General Manager George Burnett, the Bulls staff includes Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Personnel Barclay Branch, Assistant Coaches Jake Grimes and Jason Supryka, Goaltending Instructor Sebastien Farrese and Hockey Development Coordinator Chris Longo along with his qualified team of instructors.

"We're very excited to have the opportunity to grow the game of hockey in Belleville and the surrounding Quinte region," said Barclay Branch who heads into his eighth season as Bulls Assistant General Manager. "Belleville has produced several great hockey talents in past years including current NHL'ers Brad Richardson and Andrew Raycroft, and emerging stars in Andrew Shaw and Nick Cousins. Whether you're playing at an elite level or you're enjoying the game in house league, the Bulls Organization wants to inspire growth and development in local players."

The Bulls have been active on the skills development front in the past year, initiating their 3 on 3 Spring Showdown program in addition to their well-established summer hockey camps that instruct players ranging from the Tyke to Peewee age groups. The Bulls are also providing full day P.A. Day Camps in the coming school year in addition to their Elite Pre-Tryout Conditioning Camp.

The BMHA and the Bulls look ahead to a productive partnership that will give local hockey players an enriched experience on and off the ice.
