Blades Re-Assign Ross Hnidy

Press Release

The Saskatoon Blades have re-assigned defenceman Ross Hnidy to the Nipawin Hawks of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

The 17 year old blueliner from Saskatoon appeared in one of the Blades first three games in 2013-14, the team's 5-2 loss in Moose Jaw on Saturday night.  Hnidy never registered a point or any penalty minutes in the game, and had an even plus-minus rating.

Hnidy was selected by Saskatoon in the 6th round, 115th overall, in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.  He spent the last two seasons as a member of the Midget-AAA Saskatoon Contacts, winning the provincial title both years.  Last year in 43 games with the Contacts, Hnidy posted 3 goals and 11 points to go along with 146 PIMs.

The move leaves the Blades roster at 23 players, including two goalies, 7 defencemen and 14 forwards.
