Josh Brown named Generals Captain

Press Release

The Generals were thrilled to announce Josh Brown as the team’s new captain as he took to centre ice for the ceremonial puck drop last night at the Oshawa Generals 2013-2014 Home Opener.

Brown, a native of London, Ontario was selected by the Generals 44th overall in the third round of the 2010 OHL Priority Selection. Known for his size and physicality, the 6 foot 5 inch defenseman is a quiet leader that brings a steady presence to the Generals blue line.

Brown was selected 152nd overall in the sixth round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft by the Florida Panthers but continues in Oshawa for his third year with the Generals with hopes to provide some veteran leadership to the young Oshawa Generals team.

We are extremely proud of Josh and the development that he has shown in the past season, both on and off the ice. Josh has the quiet presence of a natural leader and embraced the leadership role prior to being given the “C” on his jersey. He is an extremely mature and focused young man that has a bright future. Leadership is a key component of all successful teams and we have a very solid leadership group here. We look forward to working with this leadership group and with Josh as our captain” – Jeff Twohey
