Press Release

The Ducks have signed 2013 first-round selection (26th overall) Shea Theodore to a three-year entry-level contract through the 2015-16 NHL season. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.

He ranked eighth among all WHL defensemen in scoring, and second among team leaders in assists and third in points. Theodore played his first full WHL season in 2011-12, collecting 4-31=35 points with 30 PIM in 69 games with Seattle. Among league defensemen, he ranked third in rookie scoring, while also leading all club blueliners in points. In addition, Theodore led all Seattle skaters in assists. He has appeared in 144 career WHL games over three seasons with Seattle, collecting 23-62=85 points with 64 PIM.

Theodore won gold with Team Canada at the 2012 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and registered five assists en route to gold at the 2013 Under-18 World Championship. He also won a gold medal with Team British Columbia at the 2011 Canada Winter Games.
