Press Release
The Owen Sound Attack is announcing that forward Kurtis Gabriel and
defenseman Chris Bigras have been sent back to the Owen Sound Attack
from the Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche.
Gabriel, 20 was attending the Minnesota Wild training camp after being a 3rd
Round draft choice of the NHL Club earlier this summer. Because Gabriel
is an overage player in the OHL, there was the option for the Wild to
assign him to their American Hockey League affiliate in Iowa; however
Gabriel will return to Owen Sound for his final Junior season.
Bigras, 18 was a 2nd Round pick of the Colorado Avalanche
this past summer and earned an NHL Contract and an extended pre-season
stay with the Avalanche because of his superior play in training camp.
Both players are expected to be in town for practice on Wednesday.
Gabriel’s return now gives the Attack four overage players as he
joins forward Cameron Brace, Kyle Hope and defenseman Brayden Rose in
that category.
