Thunder announce captains

Press Release

The Drayton Valley Thunder are proud to officially announce newcomer Corey Scammon as team captain for the 2013 – 2014 season.  Scammon was part of a beginning of the season trade with the Brooks Bandits. The 20 year old defenseman played in 27 games with the Bandits last season, collecting 6 points along their path to the RBC Cup.

"Corey has been the ultimate team player since he arrived in Drayton Valley this month and we are extremely proud to have Corey as our team captain,” states Head Coach Mike Mueller.

“Corey came to the Thunder from Brooks and helps our young defense corps with his poise and experience, playing in the RBC last season," added Mueller.

In addition, Cole Dunphy, Dallen Hall and Nathan Smith will hold the assistant captain positions for the 2013-2014 season.
