19th Annual Good Neighbour Day

Press Release

The Michigan Warriors are proud to once again, partner with Bentley Florist in hosting the 19th annual Good Neighbor Day.

Residents of Genesee County will have a unique opportunity on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 to meet each other and foster new relationships with neighbors during Good Neighbor Day.  This special event will be hosted by Bentley Florist, located at 1270 South Belsay Road in Burton, starting at 9am.  Bentley Florist will give away 3000 roses in dozen bundles absolutely free, while supplies last, to anyone who visits the shop.

Joining the staff temporarily will be players and staff members of the Michigan Warriors hockey team who will help distribute flowers.

Steve Welch, owner of Bentley Florist, says there is one catch for the free dozen roses, and that is anyone who picks up the roses will be asked to sign a promise to keep one rose for themselves and give the other 11 roses away to different people.

“We hope that the people of Genesee County will be able to get acquainted with new people or renew old friendships during Good Neighbor Day”, Welch said.  “We hope to create a friendlier, more caring and compassionate world starting right here in our community”.

Michigan Warriors Head Coach Moe Mantha is excited to participate.  “We pride ourselves in our community involvement, and we are excited to participate in such a community friendly event.”

Good Neighbor Day is being celebrated for the 19th year throughout the U.S. and Canada, as thousands of participating floral shops unite for a day of celebrating goodwill towards people.  The Genesee county host of the event, Bentley Florist is celebrating their 60th anniversary of being a good neighbor.
